Offsetting Carbon Emmisions

Key Production were the first company of our kind to offer our clients an easy way of offsetting the carbon produced by manufacturing CDs and DVDs.

'Offset' means that for every 1 kg of CO² you produce, we organise for 1kg of CO² to be saved through climate friendly projects around the world. We will collect a nominal fee per thousand units pressed and in association with The CarbonNeutral Company, we will put back into a carbon offset project, neutralising emissions. Clients wishing to do this will then be able to use the CarbonNeutral logo on their product. Our current project is the Tieling Coal Mine Methane Capture in China. This project captures coal mine methane (CMM) and uses it as an energy source to supply gas to homes and local industry. Download this PDF for more details.

By just adding 0.01p (per unit) to your CD or DVD production costs you can contribute to to this project and help Key Production reduce carbon emissions. In return your whole product including the disc, case, packaging and transport through Europe will have its emmisions offset. You will also be allowed to use the Carbon Neutral Logo on your packaging.
