Green Packaging and Ecodiscs

The materials used to manufacture CDs and DVDs are the same where ever they are produced so the opportunities to reduce the enviromental impact are limited however the ECODISC now provides a viable alternative. Both the CD & DVD versions are thinner, lighter and use less polycarbonate than standard Discs. For more information check out our Eco Prices. Meanwhile the options for more enviromentally packaging are continually increasing.

More and more printing companies are offering a range of more enviromentally friendly options from recycled card and plastics through to the actual inks used to print. In this section we have included some of the options available, however new products are apperaing all the time so please ask us if there is something specific you are looking for.

BRUCE PARRY PRESENTS - AMAZON TRIBE- SONGS FOR SURVIVAL

Project: Charity CD on behalf of Survival International, which is an organisation supporting tribal people worldwide.

Customer: PIAS Distribution/Kensaltown Records

Brief: To create a package that would have minimal environmental impact at a minimal price, so the maximum funds went to the charity.

Packaging: We decided to opt for a plastic free package, that was made from a recycled/recyclable board printed with soya based inks. All the discs and packaging were made in the UK to keep the carbon footprint to a minimum and the carbon generated by the disc manufacturing was offset, which meant that we could put the carbon neutral logo on the product.
