Key Production unveils Injection Moulded Records and Tiny Vinyl to drive the next generation of sustainability-focused physical music formats
- Injection Moulded Records introduced as part of Key Production's expanding portfolio of sustainability-focused product offerings
- Key Production presents Tiny Vinyl, the collectable four-inch vinyl format
LONDON, Wednesday 8th April 2026 - Today, Key Production, Europe’s leading bespoke physical music and packaging manufacturing agency, is bringing two physical formats to the European market, Injection Moulded Records and Tiny Vinyl.
Injection Moulded Records are produced using PET (polyethene terephthalate), a lightweight, recyclable resin. By replacing PVC with PET, the manufacturing process delivers measurable reductions in both energy consumption and CO2e emissions compared with traditional vinyl pressing.* This innovative format reflects Key Production’s commitment to sustainability as a certified B Corp, while maintaining high standards of audio quality. The vinyl can also be produced in a range of colours, including black, transparent and opaque colours, as well as unique INKPLOSION visual effects.
At the same time, Key Production is introducing Tiny Vinyl, 4-inch vinyl records, to the UK and European market, with exclusive order quantities ranging from 500 to 2,999 units. As the sole provider able to manage production at this scale, the team is uniquely positioned to deliver within this range, marking the first time this volume level has been made available in the European market. Combining collectability with sustainability, Tiny Vinyl offers artists a distinctive new merch option that can sit alongside traditional vinyl releases. The launch reflects Key Production’s continued focus on bringing innovative and more sustainable physical formats to artists and labels.
John Service, Director of Strategy and Sustainability at Key Production, said, “The physical music market continues to evolve, and artists and labels are looking for formats that are both innovative and more sustainable. Injection moulded records allow us to explore sustainable materials and production methods, while Tiny Vinyl introduces a fun, highly collectable format that creates new opportunities for artist merchandise and fan engagement.”
With the launch of Injection Moulded Records and Tiny Vinyl, Key Production Group continues to expand its range of innovative physical music formats to meet evolving industry needs. In 2024, the company also launched SMART formats, which combine physical products with bonus digital content, giving artists the chance to release exclusive material to fans carried on physical items.
